A key component of the MKE United Downtown Action Agenda is its civic engagement process. The effort was launched in July 2016 with the creation of a Steering Committee, the convening of community ambassadors and the launch of MKEUnited.com. Most recently, the MKE United project team held workshops designed help shape the vision, priorities and strategies of the MKE United Greater Downtown Action Agenda.
We brought together more than 100 community members for a total of four workshops to share initial findings regarding the challenges and opportunities facing the Greater Downtown and to secure insight and feedback from a broad cross-section of the community. In the coming weeks, we will be working to report back on the findings from the workshops, including feedback from community members. The workshops were just the beginning. We need your input throughout this process as, together, we create the vision, priorities and strategies of our Action Agenda. By working together, we can create a Greater Downtown that is welcoming to all, well positioned for future growth and poised to create benefits for the entire City.
